State Library Victoria

The other week a friend took us to State Library Victoria. We haven’t been there before, and had no idea what was even there. The reading room is an amazing sight, and eery to look down over.

They have the original set of Ned Kelly’s armour, and lots of his belongings, and there’s heaps of museum-style displays on various topics, from comic books to ancient literature.

They also have an archive of what I can only assume is every newspaper published in Australia. You can go back and read the paper from the day you were born, and they let you copy pages to a USB stick for free too. Decent day out if it’s raining out. (Insert joke about rainy Melbourne here).
